Dr. Desiderio Avila, Jr.
Dr. Desiderio Avila, Jr. is a fellowship-trained urologist in the treatment of male fertility, vasectomy reversal and microsurgery. He also specializes in Robotics, treatments for female incontinence and pelvic prolapse, hormone replacement therapy, Peyronie's disease, erectile preservation and the medical and surgical treatment for erectile dysfunction.
Dr. Avila graduated from Princeton University and then attended The University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine, where he finished as one of its top graduates. He completed his general surgery and urological surgery training at Baylor College of Medicine, Scott Department of Urology, in the world-renowned Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. Dr. Avila then completed fellowship in Reproductive Medicine, Microsurgery, and Fertility at the Baylor Clinic in Houston.
As a leader in the area of reproductive and sexual health, Dr. Avila recognizes how important it is to address all issues related to the wellbeing and happiness of his patients. He is committed to surpassing patient expectations and providing exceptional patient care, achieving the results each patient desires and deserves. As an innovator in the evaluation and treatment of sexual health and Men's Renewal, Dr. Avila provides a comprehensive approach to the care of each patient.
During his free time he enjoys the swimming, cycling, running as well as the outdoors with his wife Cristina, and two children Julian and Camila. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and is conversational in French, Portuguese, and Italian.
Dr. Kevin Bigelow
A board–certified urologist and founding member of this practice, Dr. Bigelow has practiced in Arizona since 2008. He graduated with honors in biochemistry from the University of Chicago, and earned his medical degree at the University Of Chicago Pritzker School Of Medicine, graduating with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. Dr. Bigelow completed his general surgery and urology training at Weil-Cornell New York Presbyterian Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. He focuses on all aspects of general urology, specializing in the evaluation and management of cancers of the genitourinary tract. Dr. Bigelow is an expert in robotic and minimally invasive surgery for the treatment of benign and malignant urologic diseases. He has contributed to extensive research in prostate cancer and the use of robotic surgical techniques and its outcomes. He also trains urologists interested in robotic and minimally invasive urologic surgery.
Dr. Bigelow completed urology training from Cornell University, Weill Medical College in New York. He has advanced training in Da Vinci robotic and laparoscopic surgery for the prostate and kidney from world renowned robotics experts Dr. Ash Tewari at Cornell, and Dr. Bertrand Guillonneau at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
Dr. Bigelow was raised in Rochester, NY and earned a Bachelor of Science with honors in Biochemistry from The University of Chicago. He then graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha honors from The University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine.
Dr. Manuel Eisenberg
Dr. Manuel Eisenberg is a fellowship-trained urologist in the treatment of the urologic cancers including cancer of the prostate, kidney, testicles, and bladder. He is fully versed in advanced robotic, laparoscopic, and open surgical techniques allowing him to offer the optimal individualized treatment approach on a patient-by-patient basis.
Dr. Eisenberg has spent his career helping patients through the difficult time of a cancer diagnosis and treatment. He seeks to make sure every patient understands their disease and the treatment options available to them. In doing so, he ensures that every person can make a truly educated decision on what treatment best suits his or her individual needs. Dr. Eisenberg has worked side-by-side with the leaders in the field of urologic cancer surgery as well as Radiation and Medical Oncology. Along with his colleagues at the Ironwood Cancer amp;& Research Centers, he believes in a multidisciplinary approach to give all patients the optimal treatments based on the stage of their disease and their personal preferences.
In addition to his emphasis on urologic malignancies, Dr. Eisenberg is fully trained in general urology and offers the latest treatments in benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), kidney stone disease, urinary problems, hypogonadism (low testosterone), erectile dysfunction, hematuria (blood in the urine), and urinary incontinence (leakage of urine).
Dr. Eisenberg graduated as a Regents Scholar from the University of California, Berkeley and then attended the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical school honor society. He completed his internship in general surgery at the University of Southern California/Los Angeles County Medical Center, and his Urology training at the USC Institute of Urology. Dr. Eisenberg then completed a 2-year Society of Urologic Oncologist (SUO) accredited fellowship in Urologic Oncology at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Eisenberg has published over 20 scientific journal articles, several book chapters, and presented at numerous conferences across the country.
Dr. Barry Krumholz
Dr. Barry Krumholz is a board certified Urologist with extensive experience in all aspects of Urology, practicing in the Phoenix area since 1985. A native of New York, he moved with his family to Montreal during early childhood. He graduated with honors from both McGill University (undergraduate), and the University of Ottawa faculty of Medicine. After completing his residency at McGill in 1983, he began his professional career on Long Island, New York, prior to relocating to Arizona. Besides English, he is fluent in French, and has a working knowledge of Spanish. As an "old school" physician, Dr. Krumholz prides himself in communicating directly and openly with patients, while perhaps not embracing the computer technology with as much zeal as some of his younger colleagues!
Outside of work, Dr. Krumholz enjoys spending time with family, gardening, and pursuing a lifelong passion for sports activities, including but not limited to mountain biking, kayaking, skiing and windsurfing.
Dr. Kian Ahmadieh
Dr. Kian Ahmadieh is a fellowship-trained urologist who specializes in urologic reconstructive surgery and robotic surgery. His passion is treating patients with complex urologic conditions including urethral strictures, ureteral obstruction/injuries, post prostatectomy male incontinence, and trauma related urologic complications. Dr. Ahmadieh treats a wide scope of benign and cancerous conditions including kidney stones, prostate/kidney/bladder cancer, and enlarged prostate. He offers a wide variety of BPH/enlarged prostate treatments, allowing for individualized treatment options.
Dr. Ahmadieh is an Arizona native and is excited to continue providing care locally. He graduated summa cum lade from Arizona State University. He then continued his medical education at the University of Nevada. There he excelled both academically and clinically and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He then completed his urologic residency training at the Mayo Clinic, working alongside experts in the urologic field. He went on to complete specialized training in urologic reconstruction at the University of California, San Diego.
Dr. Ahmadieh is dedicated to provide compassionate and high-quality care to his patients. He is devoted to building relationships through respect and providing patients with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions in their healthcare.
